In the wake of increased hubbub (and Twitter trends) surrounding Star Wars: The Uprise of Skywalker and the take a soh-called "J.J. Abrams Cut" to be released, actor Dominic Monaghan – World Health Organization plays Resistance member Beaumont Kin in Sequence 9 – has revealed he, to a fault, wants to see the managing director's undercut. The Lost alumni has besides suggested that different scenes were left hand on the cutting room floor, and expanded on cardinal moments involving his persona that didn't get in into the finished cartesian product.

"Like much of Star Wars fans, I'm hoping there volition be a director's cut and so we'll get at see more and to a greater extent of the stuff that was filmed," Monaghan tells THR in a recent audience before mocking: "I wasn't there every last the sentence, but evening in the short clock time that I was there, at that place was so much block recorded that didn't make information technology to the theatrical version."

Of bill, Monaghan elaborates on two Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker scenes in particular that he was involved in this could ultimately close up being depart of the J.J. Cut.

The premier involves Billie Lourd's character Lieutenant Cronnix: "Another thing that we testament hopefully learn at some betoken in the future is that in the final conflict, Connix injures her leg. Obviously, myself, Rose and Connix are exiting the battle, and Rose has a weapon. While Rose is diligent doing stuff, I grab Connix's arm and order it over my shoulder to make positive that each of us come back As whole as possible."

In that respect's also more of Francis Beaumont's backstory that wasn't featured in St ar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. As Monaghan explains, "Combined of the things about my character that was a little bit much grooved — in damage of everything that we filmed — was that he was a encipher-breaker, Beaumont. So, a deal of the data that had resuscitate our heroes had come through Beaumont."

Monaghan steady winks at the idea that some of the characters introduced in Rise of Skywalker could return down the line, potentially in a Disney Plus series. After having his backstory fleshed outgoing in a recent Star Wars comic, Monaghan said: "The Thomas More backstory that you get with Francis Beaumont, there's potentially a chance that maybe we could continue to explore that story."

So, while Beaumont (and others) didn't get all moment in the spotlight for Abrams' saga-ender, there's a bump that we will dive deeper, be it in music director's cuts or future series, at any point in time in a galaxy far, far outside.
